This event is for Sage Oak High School students. This is a drop off, overnight event. Recommended for PLA grades 9th-12th.
This 3-day field trip offers many activities; marine labs, shark, ray, and invertebrate touch tanks, plus algae, plankton, fish, and terrestrial labs among others.
The evening programs include night snorkeling, astronomy hike, and squid dissection, to name just a few.
By focusing on hands-on experiential science, and utilizing state of the art labs and equipment, we strive to increase science literacy. The expert instructors use the natural land and sea environments of beautiful Catalina Island to stimulate minds, and most importantly, to create excitement about science. Sage Oak Student Ticket (9th-12th grade only): $420

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
