(2nd Grade VLA) Garner Holt: Animatronics Factory Tour & Activity

This event is for 2nd Grade VLA students and their families only. All students must be accompanied by an adult.
Step into the magic of animatronics and share an unforgettable day with your 2nd grade classmates and teachers at Garner Holt Productions, the world’s leader in theme park animatronics! This 3-hour experience kicks off with an inspiring look at Garner Holt’s own journey and the fascinating world of animatronics.
Together, you’ll tour the production facility where lifelike robots come to life, hear from a GHP concept designer about their creative career path, and—if time allows—gain insight from a mechanical expert about the many STEAM careers in this exciting industry. Check out this video to see more!
The adventure wraps up with a hands-on Figure Finishing activity! Design and construct a feathered friend, then use paint, clay and feathers to create a one-of-a-kind bird, duck, parrot, owl, penguin, or a feathered creature from your imagination.
Come ready to learn, create, and bond with your classmates and teachers as you explore how innovation and imagination combine to spark inspiration in STEAM careers!

Sibling Ticket: $45
***Siblings must be at least 5 years old to attend. No on under the age of 5 allowed in the studio
Adult Ticket: $45

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
