Welcome Back, Sage Oak High School 🌿

Welcome to the 2026–2027 school year! We are so excited to welcome our Sage Oak High School students and families back for another great year!

Whether you are returning to Sage Oak or joining us for the first time, we hope you had a wonderful summer and are ready for all that the year ahead has to offer. We look forward to partnering with you as our students learn, grow, explore their interests, and work toward their goals.

Fall i-Ready Testing 🍂

Fall i-Ready testing begins TODAY, Monday, August 24th! All students in grades 9–11 will complete both the English Language Arts (ELA) and Math assessments.

Here’s what to expect this week:

📍 Monday, August 24:
Students will begin testing with their Education Advisor in their Homeroom. Your EA has already communicated the Zoom link you will use for Monday’s testing session.

📍 Tuesday–Friday:
Students will attend the testing time slots they signed up for last week. Use the i-Ready Testing Schedule below to find your assigned proctor and Zoom link each day.

Students should plan to attend at least one 90-minute testing session each day until both assessments are complete. Set yourself up for success by getting a good night’s sleep, taking your time, using paper and pencil to show your work, and—most importantly—giving your best effort! 🤩

Frequently Asked Questions

• Q: Is i-Ready required for all students?
  A: i-Ready is a required local assessment for all students in grades 9–11.
  Seniors & ESN Students do not take the i-Ready.
• Q: Am I allowed to test outside of a proctored session?
  A: No 😅! All testing must be completed during a proctored Zoom session. Testing outside of a proctored session will result in having to retest.
• Q: Do I have to start with a particular test?
  A: Nope! You may start with either Math or ELA and complete the other assessment when finished.
• Q: Do I have to test every day?
  A: Plan to attend at least one 90-minute session each day until you have completed both assessments. Once you’re finished with both, you’re done!
• Q: I’m a senior—do I have to test?
  A: Seniors do not need to take i-Ready. However, if you are graduating early but are not classified as a senior, you are still required to complete i-Ready testing.
• Q: I signed up for a time slot, but I’ve already finished both tests. Do I still need to attend?
  A: Nope! 🎉 Once you have completed both the ELA and Math assessments, you no longer need to attend additional testing sessions.

Celebrate finishing i-Ready with a little fun! Join us this Friday for a virtual hangout where you can relax, play games, and connect with other Sage Oak high school students. Drop in, take a break, and kick off the weekend with us! 🎉

9AM – 2:30PM

Kick off the new school year with us at Belmont Shore Beach! Join fellow students for an afternoon of sunshine, games, swimming, and getting to know new friends before classes get into full swing. Bring your towel, sunscreen, water, a snack and beach gear—we’ll take care of the fun! Whether you’re new to campus or returning for another great year, we’d love to see you there.Come relax, connect, and start the semester off right!

AALRR is excited to welcome students back for Student Enrichment Day—a one-of-a-kind experience designed to introduce  high school students to the diverse career paths available within a law firm. Sage Oak was one of six schools invited to attend!

Throughout the day, attorneys and professional staff will share their personal journeys and provide insight into how education and determination helped them reach their career goals. 

Lights. camera. ACTION! Join us this October 3rd for Sage Oak’s ‘Old Time Hollywood’ themed homecoming and feel like a true movie star. There will be refreshments, photobooth, fun times, and maybe some paparazzi… Tickets will be available on the Sage Oak website soon. We hope to see you there!

Spring NYC Trip – UPDATE

We wanted to share an update with our high school families that the Spring NYC Trip will no longer be taking place this school year.

Have questions about Dual Enrollment? Join our counselors Thursdays, 1:15 – 2:15 PM for help with paperwork, college courses and transfer credit, ASSIST.org, earning an AA degree, Cal-GETC, and anything else related to navigating dual enrollment!

Share Your First Day of School Photos with Us! 📸

Sage Oak students in grades 9-12 continue to have no-cost, 24/7 access to Tutor.com for individualized tutoring and homework help. Students can connect with vetted tutors in subjects such as HS-level math, English, writing, and world languages using text or voice chat.

Tutor.com provides safe, secure, and judgment-free support. Tutors guide students through problems without simply giving them the answers.

Students can access the Tutor.com app through their Sage Oak Clever dashboard. Check out the steps here, and encourage your learner to connect with a tutor whenever they need extra support!
 

• Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) – Becoming a parent member of the PAC offers an opportunity to work collaboratively with other parents, teachers, and staff, providing input and support to the school administration and staff. Your voice and insight are critical to this process! 

• English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) -. This committee’s responsibility is to advise the leadership team in the development of our English Learner program. This collaboration may involve discussing teaching strategies, identifying areas of concern, and brainstorming solutions to improve language acquisition and academic success of our EL students.

• Student Advisory Committee (STAC) – Calling all 6th – 12th grade students! The STAC plays a crucial role in representing the student body and ensuring that student voices are heard in the decision-making processes of the school. 

• Sage Connections Committee (SCC) – Looking to connect with other Sage Oak families? The SCC is a parent-led group that fosters community through inclusive, fun events like Sage Oak Socials. Members collaborate with staff in virtual meetings to plan and support these in-person gatherings. If you’re passionate about building connections and helping families feel welcome, we’d love to have you join!
