This event is for 9th-12th grade PLA students and their families. Children younger than 9th grade are not permitted to attend. Students may be dropped off or accompanied by an adult.
Designed exclusively for high school students, this extended, hands-on tour offers an in-depth look at marine science research and real-world applications. Students will explore active research labs, participate in microscope viewing, interact with touch tanks, and take part in guided beach activities. Throughout the experience, students will learn about marine biology, environmental science, and coastal research while gaining insight into career pathways in scientific research, conservation, and marine-related fields. Activities may include both indoor and outdoor components!

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
