(PLA ONLY) 2nd-3rd Grade Knott’s Berry Farm Energy in Motion Tour

Release Date: December 6th at 12pm

This event is for PLA Sage Oak students and families and is recommended for 2nd-3rd grade and advanced learners. All students must be accompanied by an adult.

Science comes to life with our rides and Knott’s Berry Farm! Our 2nd-3rd Grade Energy in Motion tour utilizes our varied selection of rides and roller coasters, giving you the opportunity to discuss subjects such as centrifugal force, mass, inertia, and more while you experience how each concept relates to our rides. The two-hour 2nd-3rd Grade Energy in Motion Tour begins at 1 pm. Students and their families may explore the park on their own before and after the tour. Please see height requirements below.

Experiments and Concepts

• Kite Flyer (36”) – Centripetal Force, Inertia

• Rapid River Run (42”) – Waves, Force, Simple Machines

• Camp Bus (36”) – Microgravity, Simple Machines

• Timberline Twister (36”) – Potential/Kinetic Energy

• Hat Dance (42”) – Force = Mass x Acceleration, Simple Machines

Please keep in mind that the Educational Tours at Knott’s Berry Farm are best for 1st graders and up. If you have children that do not meet the height requirements for rides on the tour, Knotts kindly suggests that you stay with your younger child and meet up with your student at the end of the ride.
