(PLA) Mesa Water District: Guided Tour

This event is for PLA students and their families. All students must be accompanied by an adult. Recommended for PLA grades TK-12th.
Join us for a guided tour of the Mesa Water Education Center, the only facility of its kind in Orange County. This is a premier STEAM education destination for students of all ages to learn more about water, underground aquifers, how water is purified and delivered to homes and businesses in our area, and careers in the industry. The 2,400 square-foot center in Costa Mesa offers an interactive experience featuring more than 20 exhibits. The Redwood Theater provides a never-before seen look at Mesa Water’s unique ancient amber water story – and the fully immersive Explorer takes passengers on an adventure to the underground aquifer. Students will visit the water-wise gardens, including small redwood trees that make "amber water", and will receive a build-your-own aquifer activity to take home!

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
