(PLA) Code Ninja’s Workshop

This event is for Sage Oak students and their siblings only. All students must be accompanied by an adult.. Recommended for PLA grades 2nd–8th.
At Code Ninjas, kids learn to code while building their own video games. They gain problem solving, critical thinking, and STEM skills in a fun, safe, and inspiring environment. Join this field trip for an afternoon full of engaging coding and STEM activities.
This field trip will be broken up into two age groups for two different workshops and the ages and participating grades are stricktly as listed.
Grades 2-5 will be participating in a Lego Robotics class - Throughout this class, students will make silly dancing robots, a working safe with password detection, a racing rhino, and more! Using the LEGO® SPIKETM Prime and Essential robotics kits, students will learn the fundamentals of how to design, build, and code robots. Numerous projects available for students of all ages and skill levels.
Grades 6-8 will be participating in a Minecraft Modding class - Developed for experienced Minecraft® players, this camp teaches students how to make unique mods (modifications that change the game)! They will use the MCreator platform to create their own custom tools, weapons, armor, enemies, and more!
Sage Oak PLA Student Ticket (strictly 2nd grade (7yrs of age) & up): $28
Sibling Ticket (strictly 2nd grade (7yrs of age) & up): $28
***NOTE: Parents and younger siblings do not require a ticket and will not participate in the field trip activity but may sit nearby to observe.
WAITLISTS WILL BECOME AVAILABLE WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER THE LAST TICKET IS SOLD.
Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
