(HS CTE) Garner Holt: Animatronics Factory Tour & Activity

This event is for 9th-12th grade (HS ONLY) PLA students and their families. Children younger than 9th grade are not permitted to attend. All students must be accompanied by an adult.
Explore Careers in Theme Park Design & Engineering at Garner Holt Productions! Go behind the scenes at Garner Holt Productions, the world leader in theme park animatronics, for an exclusive, career-focused experience designed for high school students interested in STEAM, art, engineering, design, and entertainment careers.
During this immersive 3-hour visit, you'll discover how creative ideas become lifelike animatronic characters as you tour the production facility where these incredible creations are designed and built. Meet industry professionals, learn about their educational and career journeys, and gain insight into the wide range of careers that make these projects possible.
High school students will also have the unique opportunity to hear from a professional currently working on an active Garner Holt project, followed by a mini Q&A where you can ask questions about the industry, career pathways, and what it's like to work in themed entertainment.
The experience concludes with a hands-on Light-Up Yeti Kit activity, where you'll explore the fundamentals of electrical circuits while building and illuminating your own Yeti—just as electrical systems help bring animatronics to life.
Whether you're interested in engineering, fabrication, concept design, project management, or creative arts, this field trip offers an exciting look into the many career opportunities behind the magic of themed entertainment.

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
