| Hello Virtual Learning Academy! It was a great few days back last week! We have just two weeks until the end of the semester and Learning Period 5, so we encourage students to stay focused and finish strong, remembering we’re here to support them every step of the way! Our VLA program will purchase required materials for 1 art and 1 enrichment class per quarter. To be eligible to receive these provided materials for Quarter 3 classes, parents must register for classes by today, Monday, January 12th. Any registrations beyond today or beyond the 1 art and 1 enrichment course, parents will be responsible for procuring the required class materials. There’s still room in many of the classes for Quarter 3 including coding, make up artistry, novel studies, chess, AI ethics, ancient greece art history and so much more! Students can tour National University, University of California Riverside, Riverside City College, San Diego State and Loma Linda University all from the comfort of their homes! Tours are an hour long and will take place between 10am-3pm on Friday, January 16th. Attend one, attend them all! Questions? We highly recommend that you practice going through the process of signing up for a field trip with our Field Trip to the Moon! Tutor.com connects students with live, on-demand tutors in a wide range of subjects, including math, ELA/writing, science, social studies, and more. Students can get help with homework questions, test prep, essay feedback, and skill-building support, anytime they need it. Sessions are available 24/7, including after school, evenings, and weekends, making it a flexible support tool for busy schedules. We encourage families to take advantage of this valuable resource and remind students that help is just a click away! ![]() Sage Oak Math Resources for Parents Are you looking for a targeted learning tool to help your student master math? The Sage Oak Math Pathways App is here! This app was designed by dedicated Sage Oak staff to support individualized learning, close skill gaps, and build confidence in math! Math Pathways includes built-in personalization features and differentiation that can address your student’s individual needs, guiding them through their grade-level learning focus skills while also reinforcing any prerequisite skills that may need review. We encourage you to watch the Math Pathways App demonstration video to see how the app works and how it supports student learning. Students must fill out a permission slip and RSVP form to attend. ![]() Celebrating Kindness with Sage Oak’s Annual Letter Drive We are so proud of our Sage Oak students for their participation in this year’s Annual Letter Drive! Together, our students wrote and sent nearly 200 heartfelt letters of thanks to community members, including first responders, healthcare workers, teachers, military personnel, and more. These letters were a meaningful way for students to express gratitude and spread kindness beyond their homes and schools. A huge thank you to our parents for encouraging and supporting your students in taking part in this special initiative. Your partnership helps foster empathy, gratitude, and civic responsibility in our students, and the impact truly reaches far beyond the page. We are grateful for our incredible Sage Oak community! ![]() Sage Serves The start of a new year is the perfect time to reflect, set fresh goals, and think about meaningful ways to positively impact the lives of others. It’s a wonderful moment to be intentional about serving our communities. Sage Serves, Sage Oak’s in-house service recognition program, allows students to track their volunteer hours and be celebrated for their contributions. Participation not only strengthens character and leadership skills but can also help students explore interests that may shape their future paths.
