College and Career Week We’re excited to kick off College and Career Week this week! Throughout the week, you can look forward to exciting webinars, motivating field trips, and optional interactive activities you can do independently. We wish to expose students to various college and career options while fostering a mindset geared toward higher education. Last Art in The Park of 2024 Join us as we come together for our last Art in the Park of the 2024 year! We will be hosting events at three different locations on Friday, December 13th from 10 am-11 am. The cost to participate is $5 in instructional funds for our PLA students, and at no cost to our VLA students. The activity is open to all Sage Oak students from TK-12th grade. Siblings and unenrolled students are welcome to attend, but please be aware that they will not be able to participate in the art activity. Curriculum Corner: Khan Academy Does your child need extra math support? Is your child struggling to keep up with grade level math topics? Check out Khan Academy’s Math: Get Ready courses. The Get Ready courses focus on strengthening foundational math skills. By addressing essential prerequisites, students build the necessary base to tackle current grade-level math with greater confidence. Sage Oak’s Annual Letter Drive Change starts locally and writing letters of thanks and gratitude to community members is the perfect way to nurture roots and cultivate excellence. Please join us in making Sage Oak’s Annual Letter Drive another great success! The Letter Drive will run through Friday, December 20th. Please check out our Letter Drive informational sheet and complete one survey to document all your letters sent so we can keep track of our students’ selfless acts of kindness. Last year our amazing students sent over 730 letters to neighbors, retirement homes, teachers, military personnel, hospitals, police stations, and more. What an impact! Important Update: Technology Fees We understand that the timing of our communication about technology fees during the 2023-24 school year may have caused challenges for families in planning for 2024-25. In light of this, and due to a higher-than-anticipated COLA, we have decided to remove all technology fees effective immediately and for future school years. Any purchase orders that were created for technology fees and/or new Chromebooks will be credited back to student instructional fund accounts on Tuesday, December 3rd. |
