We are currently seeking parent volunteers to join the ELAC (English Learner Advisory Committee). The ELAC meets virtually four times a year. The ELAC’s responsibility is to advise the leadership team in the development of our EL program and to help spread awareness about the importance of school attendance and completion of EL curriculum. ELAC collaborates with teachers, administrators, and other school staff to ensure that the needs of English learners are met effectively. This collaboration may involve discussing teaching strategies, identifying areas of concern, and brainstorming solutions to improve language acquisition and academic success. Members may also play a role in the decision-making processes related to English language learners, which fosters communication and collaboration between parents or guardians of English learners and the school administration. It encourages active involvement of parents in their child’s education by providing opportunities for them to understand and participate in the academic and social development of their children.
