September 9, 2024 Dear Sage Oak Community, Many of our Sage Oak families and staff are impacted by the Line Fire in San Bernardino County. As of this morning, the Line Fire has spread to over 20,500 acres, with more than 1,800 personnel assigned to the fire and a 3% containment. Yesterday, Governor Gavin Newsom proclaimed a state of emergency in San Bernardino County. He announced that California has secured a Fire Management Assistance Grant (FMAG) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to help ensure the availability of vital resources to suppress the fire. Today we have suspended in-person warehouse operations at our Redlands warehouse facility. Most beginning-of-the-year orders have been shipped, but lending library orders may be delayed this week. This upcoming Friday, September 13th, is our Redlands Back-to-School social event. We are monitoring the situation closely, including air quality conditions, and will communicate if we make any changes to Friday’s event. For up-to-date information on the Line Fire, including evacuation orders, shelters, and road closures, visit the incident website. Cal Fire urges residents in the surrounding areas to be prepared to evacuate if necessary. Those who require additional time to evacuate and those with pets and livestock should leave immediately. The San Bernardino County Fire Protection District information hotline can be reached at 909-356-3998.
