California students in kindergarten through 12th grade can submit artwork or poetry about California’s coast and ocean by January 29, 2026 (5pm PST). Ten winners will receive a $100 gift certificate to BLICK Art Materials or a bookstore, plus four tickets to Aquarium of the Pacific. Each winner’s teacher will receive a $50 gift certificate from Acorn Naturalists. Winning art and poetry will be part of a traveling exhibit through the end of 2026. For more information click here. Coffee with the Counselors Join us for a virtual “Coffee with the Counselors” this Thursday, Oct 2 at 9:00 a.m! All four Sage Oak school counselors will be in the Zoom if you have any questions or need to brainstorm some ideas, grab some resources, etc. This is an informal, open format, designed to create space for parents to drop in and receive some support and encouragement. Live College Essay Review Extravaganza 👉🏼 Monday, Oct 6 (4 – 5:30PM) In this FREE event, the College Essay Guy Team will provide individual, personalized feedback on as many student essays as we can in 1.5 hours. Your students will share their essays in a Google Document during the actual session. Expertly-trained CEG essay coaches—with backgrounds in college admissions, counseling, writing, and everything in between—will host Zoom breakout sessions, review student essays and offer feedback and strategies for all attendees to use in their application process.
