Look for it every week!![]() Upcoming Important Dates: March 13 Spring Progress Reports March 13 Last date to drop a class (including Honors courses) March 20 P2 Attendance 🗓️ 25-26 Academic Calendar 🗓️ Important Reminder: Course Drop Deadline As a reminder, this Friday, March 13th is the last day for students to drop a class for the semester without a “W”. All course drop requests must be submitted to your EA by this date. This deadline also applies to Honors declarations, so students wishing to add or remove the Honors designation for a course must complete that process by March 13th. Please plan accordingly, as schedule changes will not be allowed after this deadline. Make sure to reach out to your EA if you need to make any course change requests! ⭐️ Introducing Our New IT Self-Help Portal! Order here! ![]() Every week, we will highlight a Sage Oak High School student who has been nominated by their Education Advisor. This week, Sage Oak High School is celebrating: 🌟Haley Bertino (9th Grade)🌟 Haley has made an incredible transition from our middle school program into high school while dedicating 30+ hours each week to pursuing her dream of a professional dance career. Her hard work recently earned her acceptance into the prestigious Juilliard Summer Dance Intensive, where she will spend three weeks this summer training on the the Juilliard campus in New York City with top dance professionals. Haley is one of only 40 dancers selected for this program 🤯! Alongside her demanding dance schedule, Haley maintains a full and rigorous course load of Sage Oak in-house classes. She plans to pursue a BFA in Dance and continue on to a professional dance career. Haley’s journey is a wonderful example of how Sage Oak’s flexible learning model allows students to pursue their passions while staying committed to their education. ![]() 🆕 Introducing Our Sage Oak Substitute Counselor! While Mackenzie enjoys time with her beautiful newborn, we’re pleased to welcome Cheri Adame as our substitute counselor supporting Sage Oak students, families, and staff. Cheri brings over 30 years of experience in high school education, including 18 years as a high school counselor. She is available to answer questions and provide support during this time. (Note: The graduate does not use one of the tickets.) All graduates and their families attending the in-person ceremony must complete the Graduation Guest Ticket Requests form. Please submit the form once per family to indicate: if you will use your 5 allotted tickets if you need fewer than your 5 allotted tickets if you want the 5 tickets AND are requesting additional tickets (PLEASE NOTE: Our ability to issue additional tickets will depend completely on whether other families need all 5 of their tickets) This form is due by Friday, March 27th! Resume Workshop If you are a senior and have not completed your resume, which is needed as part of the senior checkout process, make sure you come to the Resume Workshop on Tuesday, March 10th, at 1:00. All students 9-12 are welcome to attend if they want to learn how to create their first resume! Zoom Link 💰STILL OPEN: Susan S. Steelman Bragato Scholarship The California Charter Schools Association is awarding ten scholarships of $2,000 each to graduating seniors from CCSA member charter schools – including Sage Oak! This scholarship honors Susan S. Steelman Bragato, a pioneer of California’s charter school movement, and celebrates the diversity of charter school students. Chicano Park: Mural & Photography Walk Thursday, March 26 Join us for a walk around Chicano Park in San Diego, which boasts the largest concentration of Chicano murals in the world (over 100 paintings)! We will begin by visiting the work of Ramsés Noriega, a pioneering artist/activist of the ’60s and ’70s, at the Chicano Park Museum & Cultural Center. March Parent Summit Starts Today! We’re excited to share that our March Parent Summit begins today! This exciting weeklong virtual event will feature several High School-focused sessions designed to help families explore valuable resources and plan with confidence for the high school years. Sessions will highlight programs including Tutor.com, Mr. D Math, StrongMind, WriteAtHome, High School Math Live, and the Classical Learning Resource Center – giving you the opportunity to learn directly from providers and discover options that best support your student’s goals. Be sure to review the digital brochure for complete session descriptions, Zoom links, dates, and times so you can plan which presentations to attend. If you aren’t able to join a session live, no worries! Most sessions will be recorded and shared after the Parent Summit, so you can watch at your convenience. Level Up with Adobe Student Academy: Registration Now Open! The Adobe Student Academy is hosting free workshops on April 7th and 8th to help students build a “living resume,” design club logos, and get hiring tips directly from Adobe recruiters. Students can sign up now for the Resume Lab, Photoshop Magic, Club Identity, or Career Branding sessions, all of which use Adobe Express available directly through your school Clever account.
