This week, Sage Oak High School is celebrating… 🌟Alicia Barber (12th Grade)🌟 ![]() Alicia is an exemplary student leader who has made the most of her time at Sage Oak. She has taken a rigorous academic path through Sage Oak classes and dual enrollment at Crafton Hills College. A dedicated leader, Alicia has been involved in ASB since her freshman year and now serves as ASB President, in addition to leading as President of the Christian Club. Through her involvement in clubs like ASB, Christian Club, Literacy Club, and Creative Writing Club, Alicia has grown in her confidence and developed strong leadership and communication skills. Known for her kindness and inclusivity, she strives to make everyone feel valued and encouraged. Alicia shares that Sage Oak has been the perfect fit since elementary school, providing her with strong academics and opportunities to grow through leadership, volunteer work, and independent study, which has prepared her well for college. This fall, she plans to attend Grand Canyon University to pursue a degree in elementary and special education—an exciting step toward her goal of becoming a teacher! ![]() Mock Job Interview Activity ![]() Help your student step confidently into their future by connecting them with real-world experience. Our mock job interview program pairs high school students with community members, giving them the chance to practice professional communication, build confidence, and receive valuable feedback. Students will attend a training session the week of May 4th-8th on how to conduct themselves, dress, and answer job interview questions to prepare for a successful mock interview. Sign up HERE! Star Wars Day at the Academy Sunday, May 3 The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is the largest museum in the U.S. devoted to the arts, sciences, and artists of moviemaking. Join your peers in visiting the museum for its annual Star Wars celebration! We will meet droids and craft Star Wars themed buttons, origami, and puppets. Lydia shares how Sage Oak’s education advisor support, communication, resources, and IEP services helped Malachi adjust to online learning, catch up, and get on track to graduate, and she encourages other parents of struggling students to consider the program.
