(PLA) Palm Springs Tramway: Ranger Led Discovery Hike

This event is for PLA students and their families. All students must be accompanied by an adult. Recommended for PLA grades 3rd and up.
🌤️ Join us for an adventure above the clouds! We’ll ride the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway — the world’s longest and steepest rotating tramcar — up to about 8,500 feet, where our trailhead awaits. Once at the top, a Ranger‑led "Language of the Forest" hike along the Discovery Nature Trail will last approximately two hours, offering a short, educational loop.
After the guided portion, families are welcome to explore the mountain at their leisure, take in the stunning viewpoints, or enjoy lunch or a snack at the top. Mountain Station offers a casual café, a sit-down restaurant with incredible valley views, a gift shop, natural-history exhibits, and observation decks — perfect for a relaxed, scenic break.
Because of the high altitude and rugged terrain, be sure to dress in layers, wear comfortable walking shoes, and bring sunscreen, water, and lunch or snacks (or plan to use the facilities at the top).

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
