Vision

The Sage Oak High School Virtual Academy is a program that offers full access to our collection of in-house online courses for students in grades 9-12. All courses are housed on our Sage Oak Canvas platform, these courses combine live instruction twice a week for core courses along with an engaging, digital curriculum or a syllabus-based course utilizing physical textbooks and novels. All classes are taught and graded by a credentialed Sage Oak Education Advisor.

Students have the opportunity to build community with their peers through live synchronous classes, and in group work in Zoom breakout rooms. In addition, students have a variety of in-person social opportunities offered to high school students including college tours, career-focused field trips, volunteer opportunities, high school hangouts, Prom, grad-nite, beach bonfires, and Senior Sunrise & Senior Sunset all hosted by our ASB!

Curriculum and Assigning Work

High school students in the Virtual Learning Academy program will receive a Chromebook and will have instructional funds monitored by their Education Advisor for school supplies, science lab kits, field trips and other educational needs.

The High School Virtual Academy uses a variety of award-winning digital curricula as well as teacher created curricula all housed on our Sage Oak Canvas platform. In addition, students have the option to take self-paced and personalized electives in a wide variety of fields that are graded and overseen by our high school teachers. Students can also sign up to take classes online at their local community college and enjoy the benefits of of earning college and high school credit simultaneously.
