K-8 College and Career Readiness

    Program Overview

At Sage Oak Charter School, our K-8 College and Career Readiness Program helps students develop the curiosity, confidence, and essential skills needed to thrive in the future. Through engaging live Oakschool classes that explore multiple College and Career pathways and career-focused field trips, students explore real-world opportunities while strengthening skills such as self-awareness, growth mindset, communication, collaboration, responsibility, creativity, problem-solving, and critical thinking.

    Grade Level Objectives

    • Grades K–2: Students begin to recognize themselves as unique learners, developing curiosity, resilience, and positive habits that support lifelong learning. The focus is on strengthening self-awareness and nurturing their individual interests.
    • Grades 3–5:  Students build resilience, creativity, and responsibility by exploring how their personal interests connect to potential career paths. Through this structured exploration, they develop a clearer understanding of their strengths and passions. By the end of this phase, students are well-prepared to make more informed choices as they move into the discovery stage of middle school.
    • Grades 6–8: Students prepare for high school and beyond by connecting their personal interests to real-world opportunities, creating meaningful showcases of their self-discovery, and tackling challenges with creativity and resilience. By the end of this phase, they will feel confident choosing a high school pathway or selecting classes that reflect their goals and passions. The focus is on strengthening self-awareness and empowering students to make informed, future-ready decisions about their educational and career journeys.

By intentionally weaving essential skills into every stage, the Sage Oak K-8 College and Career Readiness Program ensures that our students enter high school with a strong sense of purpose and readiness to pursue future career pathways.
