| Hello Virtual Learning Academy! We hope your parent conferences are going well and that you’re enjoying the opportunity to connect individually with your teachers! As we continue moving through October, we want to place a couple of important deadlines on your radar. First, please enroll your children in Oakschool classes by Wednesday, October 15th so that we can order the necessary materials (one enrichment and one art). In addition, please remember that the end of the learning period is October 17th, and this is a great opportunity for students to show responsibility by submitting all work on time. Please note the important information below, and do not hesitate to email virtualacademy@sageoak.education with any questions. We are here for you!  Now-October 17th: Parent Conferences – early dismissal at 11am September 30th-October 9th Wednesday, October 15th: Oakschool enrollment deadline for VLA to purchase materials for Quarter 2 classes Friday, October 17th: End of Learning Period 2 – please sign learning logs Monday, October 22nd: Monday small groups begin Friday, October 24th: Middle School Hangout at Lazer Legacy in Yucaipa Wednesday, October 29th: Afternoon assembly focused on our theme of responsibility and costume dress up day Friday, November 7th and 14th: Regional Cultural Fairs 2025-2026 School Calendar VLA Year-at-a-Glance: Some of these dates/events are subject to change  Oakschool There are so many enrichment opportunities for our students! VLA students who enroll in Quarter 2 by October 15th will have materials for 1 enrichment course and 1 art course shipped to them directly by the VLA team. Oakschool now has FIVE college interns who are teaching Oakschool classes for Quarter 2! These CTE Pathways classes are not only a great way to explore a new interest but also provide a great mentorship opportunity for our middle school students and current college students. New in IXL: Fluency Zone! IXL has launched Fluency Zone, a brand-new feature designed to help students build math fact fluency with fun, engaging practice. Grades 1–2: addition & subtraction Grades 3–4: multiplication & division Fluency Zone includes games, videos, skills, and printable resources to boost confidence and make fact practice fun. Students can also take on Raceway challenges, answering as many fact questions as possible in one minute, to sharpen speed and accuracy. Give it a try and help your kiddos race toward math fact fluency!  6th-8th October MIDDLE SCHOOL HANGOUT All Middle School students are invited to join our ASB hosted Middle School hangout at Lazer Legacy in Yucaipa on Friday, October 24th from 3-5PM! Please complete the permission slip and RSVP form to join.  Join us for Sage Oak’s First Cultural Fair! Get ready to explore the world without leaving your community! This is your chance to dive into the rich traditions of a country of your choice. Discover its culture, language, holidays, food, religion, sports, tourist attractions, daily life, and geography—and then share what you’ve learned in a fun and creative way! Events will take place on November 7th and 14th. Here’s a flye with more information.  Teach Students to Type Typing is an essential skill in today’s digital world. It helps students complete work faster, stay organized, and feel more confident with technology. Why it matters: Typing improves focus, hand-eye coordination, and makes digital tasks easier and less frustrating. How you can help at home: Just 15 minutes of daily practice can make a big difference! Encourage your child to join typing challenges, set a routine, and celebrate their progress.
