| Hello Virtual Learning Academy! We hope your parent conferences are going well and that you’re enjoying the opportunity to connect individually with your teachers! As we continue moving through October, we want to place a couple of important deadlines on your radar. First, please enroll your children in Oakschool classes by Wednesday, October 15th so that we can order the necessary materials (one enrichment and one art). In addition, please remember that the end of the learning period is October 17th, and this is a great opportunity for students to show responsibility by submitting all work on time. VLA students who enroll in Quarter 2 by October 15th will have materials for 1 enrichment course and 1 art course shipped to them directly by the VLA team. Oakschool now has FIVE college interns who are teaching Oakschool classes for Quarter 2! These CTE Pathways classes are not only a great way to explore a new interest but also provide a great mentorship opportunity for our middle school students and current college students. IXL has launched Fluency Zone, a brand-new feature designed to help students build math fact fluency with fun, engaging practice. Students can also take on Raceway challenges, answering as many fact questions as possible in one minute, to sharpen speed and accuracy. This is your chance to dive into the rich traditions of a country of your choice.
