Attendance is highly recommended for both 8th-grade students and their parents/guardians, and families may choose the date that works best for them. Canvas Course In addition to the webinars, all 8th-grade students will be invited to a Jumpstart to High School Canvas course on January 26, 2026. While optional, this course is strongly recommended, as it provides valuable information about transition expectations and introduces our NEW True Colors Assessment, facilitated by VLA Counselor Allie Whalen and PLA Counselor Jenny Reider. ![]() Boost Your Writing Skills with At-Home English Language Arts Performance Task Practice Sage Oak is excited to offer grade-level Performance Task samples, complete with rubrics, for at-home practice! The purpose of ELA performance tasks is to measure how well students can apply reading, writing, speaking, and language skills to analyze texts, communicate ideas, and demonstrate understanding in meaningful, real-world contexts. These small-group sessions are designed to hear your hopes, concerns, and ideas about AI in a welcoming, judgment-free environment. Feedback gathered will help inform the school’s AI strategic analysis, values alignment, and future policies and practices.
