CAASPP testing will begin for our 3rd-8th grade students on Monday, April 14th and continue through Tuesday, April 22nd. Please refer to your teacher’s communication regarding your student’s testing times. Live classes will resume on Wednesday, April 23rd for 3rd-8th grade. The TK-2nd grade schedule will remain the same during this time. Please take a moment to complete our parent survey as well. | ✅ CAASPP Testing starts Next Week for 3rd-8th Grade! We are gearing up for state testing next week for our 3rd-8th graders, and are looking forward to this opportunity for students to show everything they’ve learned this year! Please note: there is no homework for 3rd-8th grade students April 14-17th. Let’s set our students up for success by following these important tips: Get a Good Night’s Sleep – Rested minds think better! Aim for at least 8 hours of sleep before each testing day. Eat a Nutritious Breakfast – Fuel your brain with healthy foods to stay focused and energized. Charge Your Device – Ensure your Sage Oak managed Chromebook is fully charged and ready to go. Read Directions Carefully – Take your time, read each question thoroughly, and don’t rush. Use Scratch Paper – Jot down notes, work out problems, and organize your thoughts before answering. Stay Positive – Confidence is key! Take deep breaths, do your best, and trust what you’ve learned. |
 📍Sage Stage at 9am on Friday Join our Sage Stage tomorrow, Friday, April 11th at 9:00 AM as we welcome dynamic singer, songwriter, and music producer Ms. Briana Washington! Ms. Washington honed her talent at the Oakland School for the Arts before earning a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston. With performances at Coachella and collaborations with major artists, she’s sure to inspire our community with her incredible journey and sound! Click here to join |
| 🔬Science and Engineering Fairs Tomorrow! We highly encourage our students to participate in the upcoming Science and Engineering Fairs on Friday, April 11th. Utilize this important informational sheet. All of our VLA students will participate in science projects during class as well but are encouraged to share those projects at one of the fairs! |
 Ronald McDonald House Walk for Kids 2025 this Saturday! Join us in our annual tradition of participating in the Ronald McDonald House Walk for Kids. This year we will gather at the Pasadena Rose Bowl on Saturday, April 12th to represent Sage Oak and raise support for all Southern California Ronald McDonald Houses. Registration is $35 for participants and children 12 and under are free. Click here to register! |
| 💡Middle School Updates National Junior Honors Society: Students in grades 7-9 are encouraged to apply for the National Junior Honors Society if they have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5 and demonstrate a strong commitment to community service and leadership. The application deadline is May 9th, and selected candidates will be notified of their acceptance in June. Students who are already members do not need to reapply. Future Ambassador Volunteer Service Hours Don’t forget to work on your volunteer service hours if you are a future ambassador! You will need 50 hours total for the year to qualify for the Future Ambassador program.  🎓 Sign Up: VLA End-of-the-Year Social! Sign up for our End of Year social on Friday, May 30th in Rancho Cucamonga. Promotion ceremonies for our Kindergartners, 5th graders, and 8th graders will also take place. Let’s celebrate together with your teachers and classmates before we head off to summer break! There will be summer-themed activities, amazing science activities, and a food truck! Families are also welcome to attend the Personalized Learning Academy (PLA) social on Thursday, June 5th at a regional location near you.  🌟 Staff Spotlight Hello! My name is Mrs. Muscarella and I teach 5th grade. I started teaching at Sage Oak in the first year of our VLA program! I have loved being a part of a school from the very beginning. ◡̈ I have been teaching for 11 years, in grades 3-5. I love spending time with my family and also traveling with them during the fall and summertime. Some of our favorite places to visit are Northern California, Washington, Oregon, upstate New York, Kauai and Maui. |
