2nd Semester Reminders: Second semester is underway! To help ensure a smooth start, check out these important tips: Accept Invites: To ensure access to your Sage Oak Canvas courses, students will need to accept the invites to the S.24 courses. Double Check Courses: Get an invite that doesn’t seem quite right or a duplicate of a similar class? Reach out to your EA to double check before you start working. Clean Up Your Canvas Dashboard: In order to ensure you see your spring classes on your Canvas dashboard, click Courses on the left sidebar and then All Courses. Click the star next to the courses you want to show up on your Canvas dashboard. Report Cards: Final grades from 1st semester will be archived and report cards emailed out no later than Friday, February 9th. Intent to Return: Parents – please be on the lookout for an email from our Sage Oak registrar with information on how to provide information on your intent to return for the 2024-25 school year on the enrollment portal. This information is vital to helping Sage Oak plan staffing, classes and funding for the coming school year. Intent to Return response are due by March 15th. Parent Canvas Observer Accounts: Interested in getting a Parent Observer account for Canvas so you can check in on how your student is doing in Sage Oak classes? Follow these directions to download the Canvas Parent app and get a pairing code to observe all your student’s classes. The app even allows you to set an alert to be sent to you if your child’s grade drops/rises or if there are missing assignments. 2nd Semester Study Hall: Looking to get 2nd semester off on the right foot? Ask your EA or email Brenda Ramirez (bramirez@sageoak.education) for an invite to our weekly Thursday Study Hall from 2-3:30pm. 23-24 HS Yearbook: Did you know our Sage Oak yearbook is 100% student designer and created? And it’s not too late to order yours! Plus when you order, you’ll be able to personalize and design 2 pages of your own! Softcover – $44 / Hardcover – $51 (before taxes). Order here. Class of 2024 Updates TO DO Grad Photos & Quotes: The Senior Submission form is open for for baby pics, headshots and senior quotes. ALL graduates should fill out the form – even if you’re not attending the live ceremony and even if you don’t want to submit any photos (that way we won’t keep bugging you to submit!) Due by March 1st. TO DO FAFSA: The 2024–25 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is open for all graduates to fill out. It is a requirement for all CA graduates as well as the only way to access thousands of dollars in grants, scholarships and loans! Due April 2nd. Check out HS counselor Coral’s FAFSA walk-through here! Finished with the FAFSA? Once graduates submit the FAFSA, please have them take a screenshot of the completion page and upload it on this form. Grad Night 2024: Tickets for Disney’s Grad Night Party are now available! Enjoy a full day at Disneyland and then an exclusive nighttime celebration for Class of 2024 at Disney’s CA Adventure filled with thrilling attractions, spectacular shows and magical surprises! May 22 11AM to May 23 2AM. $218/ticket – no instructional funds. Ticket sales close March 15th! Cap & Gown Ordering: Class of 2024 graduates attending our in-person ceremony should be ordering their cap & gown from Jostens here or graduation bundles here. HS Events NEW MOLAA (Museum of Latin American Art) Field Trip + Hands-On Art Workshop: Friday, February 2nd 11am-1pm, Long Beach. Students will attend a tour of the exhibits and then will participate in a hands-on art workshop learning to draw superheroes from a Netflix animator! Price:$12 out of pocket. Students sign up HERE. February HS Hangout: On belay? On February 16th from 12:00pm-3:00pm the Sage Oak Events Committee has planned a hangout at Vital Climbing Gym in Murrieta! After we boulder our hearts out, everyone will head to Round Table Pizza for lunch. A rock climbing day pass is $18 and food prices will vary. Sign up here! Prom: Tickets for Sage Oak’s 2024 prom “Once Upon A Time” are now available! Join us at the Fullerton Arboretum on Saturday, May 4th 7-11pm for dancing, fun and more! Student sign up. NEW Cal State University Dominguez Hills Tour: Students are invited to attend a guided walking tour including a possible Esports Lab visit!
