In-person LPMs: We can’t wait to see you! The next round of in-person LPMs will be scheduled for LP5 or LP6. Look for communication from your EA about scheduling yours! YUP Math Tutoring: If your math grades aren’t quite adding up to what you had hoped, YUP Math tutoring is now available for just $50 in instructional funds! Get unlimited, 24/7 math support from qualified tutors who can help you gain confidence with your math skills and higher math scores. Tell your EA you are interested! Weekly Study Hall: Finish the semester strong! Ask your EA for an invite to Thursday Study Hall 2-3:30pm.NEW for Spring! Dance 1: Come join our inaugural Dance 1 class this spring hosted by expert dance teacher and Sage Oak EA Marian Tell Coffield! No experience necessary and students won’t have to share their dances with other students. Live classes will be done on Zoom’s Focus Mode so students can’t see each other and assignments will be submitted to the teacher only. Join the fun and earn 5 units of PE or VAPA credit! Tell your EA to add it to your spring MA! Science Olympiad: Sage Oak is once again building a team to compete at the 2023-2024 SoCal Regional Science Olympiad! Led by Sage Oak teachers Irene Esqueda and Danny Levin, this team of high school students will meet twice a week on Zoom to prepare for the competition in March. Last year’s Sage Oak teams won 14 awards and medals, earning 2nd place at the regional competition! Complete the HS Science Olympiad 2023-24 Interest Form if you are interested in learning more about this exciting opportunity and we will reach out with more details! No experience necessary but a love of science welcomed! 23-24 HS Yearbook: There is still time to order a 23-24 Sage Oak High School Yearbook! Class of 2024 Updates TO DO Grad Photos & Quotes: It’s time! We are opening the form for grad baby pics, headshots and senior quotes HERE. Due by March 1st. ALL graduates should fill out the form – even if you’re not attending the live ceremony and even if you don’t want to submit any photos (that way we won’t keep bugging you to submit!) Grad Night 2024: Tickets for Disney’s Grad Night Party are now available! Enjoy a full day at Disneyland and then an exclusive nighttime celebration for Class of 2024 at Disney’s CA Adventure filled with thrilling attractions, spectacular shows and magical surprises! May 22 11AM to May 23 2AM. $218/ticket – no instructional funds. Ticket sales close March 15th!Cap & Gown Ordering: Class of 2024 graduates attending our in-person ceremony should be ordering their cap & gown from Jostens here or graduation bundles here. An arcade champ?On January 19th from 12:00pm-3:00pm the Sage Oak Events Committee has planned a hangout at Dave & Busters in the Ontario Mills Mall where you can game it up with your fellow Sage Oak-ers! On February 16th from 12:00pm-3:00pm the Sage Oak Events Committee has planned a hangout at Vital Climbing Gym in Murrieta! After we boulder our hearts out, everyone will head to Round Table Pizza for lunch. A rock climbing day pass is $18 and food prices will vary. Sign up here! Register here. 5 Things to Do While Waiting To Hear Back From Colleges: If the waiting game is driving you crazy, here are five things you can do while you wait for acceptance letters.Set up your college portal log-in. Most colleges will alert students about acceptances through the college portal before snail-mail so be sure you have you log in set up!Keep up your grades. Colleges will see your 2nd semester grades and – gulp – can rescind or even withdrawal offers of admission or financial aid based on them. File the FAFSA. The revised 24-25 FAFSA is now open! Make sure you aim to get it filed by February to secure your chances of financial aid, federal grants, work-study funds, and loans!Search for scholarships.
