Canvas Parent App: Looking to stay up-to-date about your child’s progress in Canvas? Download the Canvas Parent App and sync with your student to get alerts on missing assignments, low grades and more. Directions on how to download HERE. – Zeros in Canvas: In order to help keep parents and students better informed about current progress in Canvas classes, zeros for missing assignments will be entered weekly instead of at the end of each Learning Period. Please note that these assignments can still be completed for full credit at any point during the semester (except Firm Due Date assignments). High School Preview Week: Want to learn more about our high school program offerings? Join us on March 4-8th for High School Preview Week! Monday through Wednesday students can pop into zooms to check out our in-house class offerings. On Thursday, March 7th, join us in-person from 10am-12pm at the Goldy Lewis Center in Rancho Cucamonga to hear about our programs, meet staff and ask questions. Or hop on our zoom on Friday from 10-11am to ask our HS Leadership Team any questions! Schedule and more details here! Intent to Return: All Sage Oak families should have received directions on how to complete the Intent to Return form on the Registration Portal. Class of 2024 Updates TODAY – Grad Webinar: Our next informational graduation webinar is today, Tuesday February 27th at 11am. We will be reviewing graduate to-dos, ceremony tickets and student awards. Zoom link here and recording will be shared next week if you can’t attend. Grad Photos & Quotes: The Senior Submissions form is open for all grads to submit baby pics, headshots and senior quotes. Please submit even if you won’t be attending the live ceremony! The slideshow will be shared as a part of our pre-recorded graduation. Due March 1st! Other Graduate To-Dos: Please make sure you’re making progress on these graduate to-dos! – Fill out the FAFSA: ALL grads. Access grants, scholarships, loans and more for college! Due April 2nd. Once you have submitted, upload a screenshot of your confirmation here. – Graduate Service Award Nominations: Do you embody the Sage Oak value of Service?Nominate yourself HERE for our Sage Oak Service Award for the chance to speak at graduation! Due March 1st – Order you cap & gown: Grads attending ceremony only. Cap & gown only / 2024 tassel only (if using a siblings cap & gown) / graduation cap & gown packages Grad Night 2024: We are down to the final days to get your tickets for Disney’s Grad Night! Come join the fun! Sign up for one of our upcoming events, hangout or tours! HS EVENTS Museum of Latin American Art: This field trip has been rescheduled to Thursday, Feb. 29th from 11am – 1pm! Students will get a tour of the museum exhibits and then participate in a hands-on art workshop learning to draw superheroes with a Netflix animator! $12 out of pocket for students / parents can attend for free. Student sign ups here. NEW Olvera Street Hangout: Join our Spanish teachers on Friday, March 15th to explore the sights, sounds and tastes of historic Olvera Street in Downtown LA! Visit shops, museums, restaurants and more! Meet at Union Station by 12pm. Student sign up here. Park Clean Up: Join the ASB Volunteer Committee on March 22nd at 11:30am at Red Hill Community Park in Rancho Cucamonga to help the community in a park clean up! Meet at the duck pond. COLLEGE TOURS NEW CSUSB Kinesiology Open House: Join our Sports Medicine CTE students on Friday, March 8th for a tour of the Kinesiology Department at California State University, San Bernardino where students will hear directly from the department chair, faculty, and current students about the Kinesiology program. Student sign up. CSU San Marcos Tour: Students are invited to attend a guided walking tour of Cal State San Marcos, Friday, March 22. Meet at Cougar Central Craven Hall at 12:00 for a 12:30 tour. THURSDAY UC For Everyone: Join the University of California’s free virtual event this Thursday, February 29 from 6-7:30pm for students and families who are interested in learning more about UC admission and their 9 campuses. This event will include: – information to help students discover what kinds of learning and engagement opportunities are available in and out of the classroom – a panel of current students and parents who will answer questions about their experiences being a part of UC – admissions representatives will share information on both the first-year and transfer admission routes, including tips to help students prepare for the process While the event is free, registration is required – click here to sign up!
