THIS WEEK Live Classes Begin! This week live classes for all our in-house Sage Oak courses will begin! Check your Student Central 1st semester tab. This tab will have all your 1st semester classes listed and the days and times they meet. Use Clever to Access Canvas. From your Clever dashboard, click the red Canvas button to access your classes. (Make sure you’ve clicked the green Accept button at the top for each of of your class invites!) Click the Zoom link. Once you are inside the Canvas class, check the home page or Welcome Module to find the Zoom link for the class. Click the link and you are in! All classes are also listed on the HS Live Schedule. Please remember that all live sessions are recorded and will be posted in the Canvas class within 24 hours for students to access. Not seeing one of your classes in Canvas or need help finding the Zoom link? Email your EA for additional assistance. 🤝 Intervention Support: Our goal is student success! Students who qualify for intervention support in math or English based on their iReady scores will be contacted by their EA over the next two weeks for course recommendations or access to intervention resources like Tutor.com. 📱Sage Oak HS Discord: All high school students are invited to join the HS Discord group to meet other Sage Oak students, get reminders about upcoming events and make plans for connecting at field trips and HS hangouts. Click HERE to join the channel and then message moderator Brenda Ramirez on the channel with your name and your EA’s name to be approved. ↪️ New Student Resources: If you’re new to Sage Oak this year, we want to make sure you are prepared with the resources you need to be successful! Click here to access all the resources from our BTS Bootcamp from HS Counselor Ms. Coral including: Bootcamp Day 1 – How to use Google Drive and Calendar, Canvas and CamScanner Bootcamp Day 2 – How to manage your time and assignments with printable schedules and digital planners Bootcamp Day 3 – Learn practical skills for note-taking, studying and memory tricks Sage Oak Student Resource Links – school calendar, field trips, clubs, course catalog and more! 📣 Join ASB: Calling all future leaders, event planners and community builders! The ASB/Student council application is now open! Come meet other students, help plan events and develop your leadership skills. Meetings will begin on September 6th 11AM. |

SCHOOL-WIDE SERVICE PROJECT 🌏 Come serve with us! Join our VLA, PLA & HS programs with a school-wide beach clean up in Huntington Beach on September 20th starting at 9am! Sage Oak students and families from all grades and all programs are encouraged to participate. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity for our whole school to come together and serve our community as a part of the 40th anniversary of California Coastal Cleanup Day! Sign up HERE. HS FIELD TRIPS 🛥️ Catalina Weekend Trip: Explore the ocean with this overnight trip to Catalina Island! October 11-13. The trip will be $404 with instructional funds and $420 out-of-pocket. Sign up on Sage Oak website to secure your spot! Pali Leadership Weekend: Any student looking to develop their leadership potential is invited to join us for our Pali Institute Leadership weekend in Running Springs, October 23-35th. Signs up open August 28th on the Sage Oak website. $393 with instructional funds or $405 out of pocket. Pantages Theater –Wicked: There are still a few seats left for the December 5th field trip to see a performance of Wicked at the Pantages Theater in Hollywood! $89/seat with instructional funds or $178 out-of-pocket. Sacramento Day Trip: Join us for a day trip up to Sacramento where we will see the state capitol, tour a local college and explore the city. Cost will be approximately $550 and instructional funds can be used. (Note: Trip pending board approval on Feb 26) Spring Break Trip: This year out Spring Break trip will be to Chicago where we will explore the sights and sounds of the Windy City! The cost will be $2100 to $2300 depending on the number of students that attend. More details to come! HS EVENTS 🏖️ FRIDAY Welcome Back Beach Party: Join us in kicking off the new school year with a back-to-school beach party! Friday, September 6, 2024 from 3-8:45pm at Bolsa Chica State Beach in Huntington Beach. All high school students welcome! Student sign up 🌅 Senior Sunrise: All Class of 2025 graduates are invited to celebrate the start of senior year with September sunrise and snacks! We will be meeting on Friday, September 13th at 6AM on the Huntington City Beach to the right of the pier. You bring chairs or blankets. We’ll bring snacks and a time to reflect on your final year of high school! Sign up HERE. 💃 Homecoming 2024: Join Sage Oak’s inaugural Homecoming dance on Saturday, October 26th. 7pm – 11pm held at Chaffey College Chino Community Center.
