(VLA 4th Grade) UCR Botanic Gardens

This event is for 4th Grade VLA students and their families only. All students must be accompanied by an adult.
The UCR Botanic Gardens is a 40-acre living plant museum with more than 3,500 plant species and thousands of specimens from around the world, focusing on plants from Mediterranean climate and arid lands, similar to California.
We will begin with an hour-long docent-led tour which integrates 4th grade California state science and social studies curriculum, followed by self-guided free time to wander over four miles of scenic trails, or just relax on a bench and enjoy the beauty and vistas.
Sage Oak 4th grade VLA Students : Free
Siblings (strictly 3rd grade & up): $3
***Venue restrictions state that no student 2nd grade and under will not be permitted on the field trip
Accompanying Adults: $3
Update: We’re thrilled by the overwhelming interest in this excursion! Parents and siblings may purchase tickets to enter the UCR Botanic Gardens, but the guided tour portion will just be for our 4th grade students and their teachers. While the students tour, families can enjoy exploring the gardens on their own. After about an hour, everyone can meet up to experience the gardens together!
ALL WAITLISTS WILL BE AVALIABLE AT 8AM ON SEPTEMBER 3rd
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
