(PLA) Caltech Seismo Lab: Guided Tour

This event is for 2nd-12th grade PLA students and their families. Children younger than 2nd grade are not permitted to attend. All students must be accompanied by an adult.
The Seismological Laboratory at California Institute of Technology is a working lab for people who study earthquakes. This guided tour through the seismo lab includes the Exhibit Center and the Media Room. Tour guides discuss how scientists gather information, study earthquakes, and use this information to understand our earth. After the guided seismo lab tour, you are welcome to take a self-guided tour of the Caltech campus. Caltech is one of the worlds preeminent science and engineering research and education instutions.

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
