(CTE) OC Superior Court: Journey Through Justice

This event is for 6th-12th grade PLA students and their families. Children younger than 6th grade are not permitted to attend. All students must be accompanied by an adult.
Sage Oak middle and high school students are invited to join a Career & Technical Education (CTE) Pathway field trip to the OC Superior Court, where they’ll explore real-world careers within the judicial system. Visiting a courthouse offers students a unique and educational experience. Participating students often gain firsthand insight into the judicial process and learn how the court system works including the roles of judges, lawyers, and other court personnel. They also discover the structure and function of the judicial branch within the larger context of the three branches of government and our system of checks and balances. By observing real court cases, students often gain insight into the steps involved in a trial, from opening statements to verdicts. Additionally, exposure to various legal professions can inspire students to consider careers in the legal field, whether as judges, lawyers, or other court roles within the justice system.

Tickets can be purchased out of pocket or with Instructional Funds (for Sage Oak students). Purchasing with Instructional Funds: Please verify with your student’s teacher/EA that your student has sufficient instructional funds available for this purchase. We are not able to provide alternative payment options if there are insufficient funds and we are not able to refund any accompanying out-of-pocket ticket purchases. Please read the field trip description carefully. If an accompanying adult ticket is required, be sure to claim an adult ticket. If student/sibling tickets are claimed without accompanying adult tickets, we are not able to provide refunds for canceled student/sibling tickets.
Please note that during school field trips and other school-sponsored community events, photos and videos may be taken where students could appear in group settings. While we make every effort to respect media preferences, students may sometimes be captured in the background or within group shots in public spaces. If your child does not have media consent on file, they will not be the main focus of any photo or video. We do not highlight or identify individuals without prior consent.
