Welcome to Powerful Poetics where students embark on an exciting journey into the vibrant world of poetry! This course is designed to ignite creativity, deepen literary appreciation, and empower young poets to express themselves through verse, while preparing students for honors, Advanced Placement (AP) and dual enrollment high school classes. From haiku to sonnets, students will discover various poetic forms and styles. They’ll learn about rhyme schemes, meter, and the unique characteristics that define each genre. Through engaging writing prompts and activities, students will unleash their imagination and craft original poems. They’ll experiment with language, imagery, and symbolism to convey emotions and ideas.
