Medieval Voices: Writing through Knights, Vikings, and Kings (6th grade IEW)

From the Anglo-Saxons to the Renaissance, this writing class brings medieval history to life as students explore chivalrous knights, Vikings, kings, and famous leaders like Genghis Khan. This theme-based curriculum guides students to improve their writing with clear structure and engaging style. Over a full academic year, students will build skills in note-taking, narrative retelling, summarizing, picture-based writing, and essay composition. Alongside writing instruction, students deepen their knowledge of the Middle Ages and Renaissance periods. Through exciting historical themes, students develop confident writing abilities grounded in strong organization and style!
