In Murals & Messages, students will explore how art can be used to spark ideas, share messages, and inspire change in their communities. This hybrid class blends virtual learning with in-person exploration—beginning with Zoom sessions that introduce famous muralists and the power of public art. Students will visit local murals around Redlands to observe, reflect, and gather inspiration for their own work. Using sketchbooks, paint, collage, and mixed media, students will design a message-driven mini mural on canvas or large paper. The class will culminate in a community-inspired showcase where students present their work and share the stories behind their art.
