Fantasy Sports Statistics Lab launches middle schoolers into the high-energy world of fantasy leagues, where every stat can be the difference between victory and defeat. Students get hands-on experience tracking player performance across games and seasons, turning raw numbers into meaningful insights. They learn to interpret batting averages, scoring trends, and other key metrics to spot rising stars and hidden sleepers. Using simple analytical tools and strategies, students design and refine competitive teams, testing hypotheses and adjusting lineups like real managers. The unit connects real-world sports excitement to practical problem-solving skills, showing how math and data shape winning decisions. Along the way, learners build confidence with number sense, critical thinking, and collaborative discussion as they debate picks and strategies. By the end, students don’t just understand statistics—they use them to outplay the competition and celebrate smart, data-driven wins!
