Sage News: Week of October 7, 2019

Mental Illness Awareness Week
This week is #MentalIllnessAwarenessWeek! According to Mental Health America, 46% of Americans will meet the criteria for a diagnosable mental health condition sometime in their lifetime, and half of those people will develop conditions by the age of 14. Additionally, the lives influenced by mental illness are much greater. Family members, friends, and coworkers are all indirectly affected by those experiencing mental health concerns. Despite the prevalence, mental health symptoms are often ignored.

Please check out Mental Health America and their #b4stage4 campaign to learn about the mental health symptoms, screening processes, and find additional resources to deal with stress, bounce back from adversity, and be a healthy, happy you!

Sage Oak App
This year, we have decided to discontinue our partnership with the Sage Oak app developer. During the summer we did not renew our contract. The app developer has informed us they will remove the app from the app store. At this time, please feel free to delete the app from your device.

Sage Oak’s website is fully mobile-friendly. You can create an “app” on your mobile device or iPad's home screen that links directly to the website. To create a shortcut for our website on your home screen, please follow these instructions.
Secondary Education
  • Is your high school student taking a Sage Oak textbook/syllabus course? Please see this Parent Lines of Support resources. We are here to help!
  • Our FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) webinar on October 2nd was a success! There was an informative session hosted by the National Honor Society with a Sage Oak family Q & A that followed.
