Has your TK-12th grade student signed up to participate in your local Science & Engineering Fair yet? Don’t worry, there’s still time to sign up to display and present a science project at our January Sage Oak Socials on Friday, January 20th, 2023! We encourage you to check out the Sage Oak Science & Engineering Fair Planning Guide and complete this Science & Engineering Fair entry form to enter your student in a regional exhibition. There is no deadline to enter and the more participants, the merrier! The entry form allows you to choose from 6 Social locations - Redlands, Fontana, Calabasas, Fullerton, Cerritos, or Murrieta. You can choose to attend the location closest to you OR you can connect with your Sage Oak friends and all enter in the same exhibition location. We will no longer be holding a school-wide STEM Day in Rancho Cucamonga, so regional participants will not need to attend a school-wide competition in February. We are confident these regional competitions are going to be STEM-tastic!

In addition to the participating students’ Science Project displays, all Social attendants can look forward to science-based presentations and experiences by local science vendors. Think science experiments! Think big bubbles! Think animals!  Your students will also get to engage in fun STEM activities! Check out the venue and main attraction details here. We are super flexible with project parameters, as our overarching goal is to have students engage in the science or engineering method at whatever level they can. Feel free to send your questions to events@sageoak.education.

We can’t wait to see what our Future STEM World Changers come up with!

Sage Oak Letter Drive
Thank you to all those who participated in our annual Sage Oak Letter Drive! We were able to fill our communities with gratitude and appreciation by sending 83 letters these past several weeks. We surpassed last year's count!

Your contribution to our community upheld Sage Oak's value of serving others and we hope you continue to find ways to do so in 2023!

A special thank you goes out to Gio Inman (Kindergarten) and Kyrie Inman (3rd grade) for earning a Certificate of Kindness by sending 10 or more letters of gratitude and encouragement within their communities. Combined, they sent 32 letters!

Instructional Funds Reminder- PLA students only
With the most recent release of instructional funds, we wanted to send out a reminder that all instructional funds need to be used on student materials and classes for this school year only. The funds may not be used to purchase materials for next year.

If you have any additional questions regarding instructional funds, please reach out to your teacher.

Counseling Corner
Happy 2023 from the School Counseling Department! We’re kicking off the new year by sharing resources on motivation and goal-setting. In the Counseling Connection Newsletter, you’ll find a quick-tip student lesson and information about our upcoming live Parent Workshop on Thursday, January 12th at 4 pm

Additionally, we have included this month’s self-paced SEL lessons. We hope you find the resources helpful!

We are planning our third-quarter counseling groups, and we’d love your feedback! We want to hear about your needs and wants for your student.
