National School Choice Week

This week is National School Choice Week and we encourage you to show your Sage Oak spirit! School Choice Week recognizes all K-12 options, including all public schools, public charter schools, private schools, online academies, and homeschooling.

School choice is important to us because it means each student can attend the school that best allows them to thrive, be challenged, and be successful. The Greatest Sage Oak Talent Show 

Final submissions for the Sage Oak Virtual Talent Show are due by this Friday, January 28th!  We hope to see many different talents including snowboarding, skateboarding, singing, playing an instrument, hula hooping, dancing, and magic tricks. Any talent or hobby is encouraged!  We are excited to see our Sage Oak students shine in 2022! Living History Event and Social 
Are you looking for ways to make social studies more meaningful? If so, we want to encourage your student(s) to participate in our Living History Event in your local region on Thursday, March 3rd. History will come alive as you create a presentation in 9 easy steps!

Field Trips - Personalized Learning Academy
The last field trip sign-up window opens on the Sage Oak Website Wednesday, February 2nd at  8:30 am and will close on Thursday, February 3rd at 4:30 pm (or when the trip fills up). 

Please carefully review the Sage Oak Field Trip Policies and COVID Field Trip Guidelines before signing up.

School-Owned Curriculum and Educational Items Donation Events

Sage Oak will be hosting four in-person events where school-owned items will be available, as a donation, to our families! Items may include textbooks, art supplies, workbooks, instruments, P.E. equipment, and more!

There is no limit to the number of items you can take and items will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note technology items are excluded.

All items are considered donations and cannot be returned to Sage Oak for any reason. Donation events are open to all Sage Oak families! Each event will have different materials and items - and you may attend more than one location! Click below for dates and times!

Counseling Corner

We have two new TK-6 counseling groups, Confident Me! and Feelings & Self Regulation, starting soon! School counselors provide counseling sessions in small-group settings to help students overcome barriers impeding academic achievement or success. 

We help students identify problems, consequences and find possible alternatives to make helpful decisions. Our counseling groups are goal-focused and short-term in nature. Sage Stage Welcomes Nicole from Elementari Coding and Storytelling

Join us on the Sage Stage this Friday, January 28th at 9:00 am as we welcome Nicole Li from Elementari to the Sage Stage! We will be learning all about using coding to write creative stories.

Instructional Strategy Resources for Parents

This year, we are taking some time to focus on a variety of instructional strategies to continuously improve our service to our students.  Our teachers have been focusing on different strategies each month for their professional development and we would like to share those strategies with Sage Oak parents!

Each month we will be providing resources and training for a specific instructional strategy that you can implement during day-to-day instruction. This month's instructional strategy is Inquiry Based Learning. Please feel free to watch the training and examples. Your teacher might be utilizing these methods in the upcoming months:

Synchronous Class Drop-in 

If your student would like to drop into a synchronous math or writing class but not permanently enroll, please complete the form below. Once your request has been processed, you will receive an email with the Zoom link to attend.
