WASC Grants Sage Oak – South Highest Accreditation Status

WASC Grants Sage Oak – South Highest Accreditation Status

Dear Sage Oak Community,

The Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), has determined that based on the information provided by the school earlier this year, Sage Oak Charter School – South has been granted a six-year accreditation status through June 30th, 2030! The six-year accreditation with mid-cycle report is the highest accreditation that WASC offers.

What is WASC, and why is it important? WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) is one of only six regional accrediting agencies in the United States. Accreditation is important to Sage Oak because it helps ensure that students receive a quality education, which denotes that we are a trustworthy organization. The process helps us to reflect and improve our educational practices and offerings on an ongoing basis. WASC accreditation also allows Sage Oak to offer A-G courses. A-G courses equip students with critical thinking and problem-solving skills and support students’ readiness for college and career.

We are so proud of our Sage Oak staff, teachers, and students who make our community shine! We would also like to recognize and thank the individuals on our Sage Oak team who contributed time and effort to support the necessary documentation to the WASC visit committee, ultimately granting us this achievement.

Sincerely,
Krista Woodgrift
