Assigning Work
Students are assigned a credentialed Sage Oak teacher who assigns work and grades assignments.
Testing
Local and state testing is required as assigned.
School-Sponsored Events
Sage Oak students are invited to participate in all-school events such as Sage Oak socials, STEM Day, talent show, Cultivate & Create art contest, and Living History Day.
Sage Stage
Sage Oak students are invited to attend Sage Stage events featuring virtual guest speakers on Fridays at 9 am.
Curriculum
Wide variety of curriculum options.
Live, a la carte classes are available for students to enroll. Concurrent enrollment opportunities are available.
Wide variety of curriculum options. Courses are available with a textbook and syllabus, approved community providers with both in-person and virtual options, or a la carte online classes through the Sage Oak Virtual Academy.
Students are provided a Chromebook, all curriculum, and materials.

Students in grades 9-12 can take live, online subject courses.
High School Virtual Academy uses various digital curricula customized by our teachers. Concurrent enrollment opportunities are available.
Instruction
The personalized learning academy follows an independent study model.
Credentialed teachers meet with students regularly to assign work, collect work and assess progress towards standards.
Live, a la carte classes are available for students to enroll.
Lessons assigned by Education Advisors (EAs) will guide the student through each semester and keep the student on track for graduation.
High school students have the opportunity to enroll and attend live instruction courses in all subject areas
Virtual academy classes take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with two days of independent study on Mondays and Fridays.
Students have the opportunity to attend live office hours with their teachers on Mondays.
Attending live sessions is optional for students staying on pace; however, it is still highly encouraged.
Students may work at pace or ahead of pace. Students also have access to their subject teachers during drop-in office hours.
Student Engagement
Students have a variety of field trip opportunities offered to them throughout the year.
High school events are available to all high school students. Events include high school-only field trips, prom, beach trips, and other organized “hangouts” with peers in their area.
Students have the opportunity to participate in a grade-level specific field trip, virtual academy assemblies, and virtual clubs and enrichment courses.

College & Career Readiness
Introduces requirements for high school graduation. Offers career exploration engagement opportunities.
Tailored support for college and career readiness. All high school students, grades 9-12, have the opportunity to participate in a College and Career Seminar Series each year. The high school program and seminars offer college tours, career-focused field trips (including virtual job shadowing), and guided support for the FAFSA, scholarship application processes, college applications, and life after high school.
