Welcome Back: Sage Oak COVID-19 Response Plan
August 3, 2020
Dear Sage Oak families,
The first day back to school is coming up on Friday, August 28th. Before we return, we want to share with you the Sage Oak COVID-19 Response Plan for the 2020-21 school year. Take a moment to watch this welcome message from our Executive Director, Krista Woodgrift.
As outlined in the recorded message above, Sage Oak has developed COVID-19 response guidelines to ensure the continuity of student learning in all counties while observing each county's level of reopening. The schools will maintain the reopening guide and map on the Sage Oak website. Please view the COVID-19 tab here.

- Fact Sheet - Fact sheet of information summarizing Sage Oak's response plan
- Response Guidelines - Color-coded chart showing how the school is operating in each color phase
- County Map - Col0r-coded map of counties Sage Oak serves
We have divided the plan into three different color stages, Blue, Yellow, and Green. All counties Sage Oak serves are starting in the Blue stage and will move through the stages as the condition in each county improves. Depending on evolving conditions within each county, our counties may move into different stages at different times. Our plan is designed in alignment with federal, state, and local requirements and guidelines and was built in a way that allows us to be flexible and to allow for individual responses depending on local direction.
As we begin the school year in the Blue stage, we will resume normal operations virtually and to the best of our ability. This includes holding regularly scheduled learning period meetings, providing special education services, and following our attendance policies. Material deliveries will be conducted as porch drop-offs or curbside pick ups. Please coordinate with your teacher.
Community Provider Services (CPs, formerly vendors)
Community provider services will be conducted virtually at this time because all counties are currently in the Blue phase. CPs may resume in-person instruction when their county is in the Yellow or Green phases on the map and this will be determined by the school in collaboration with local health officials. CPs will be required to sign an amendment to their contract which states that they will comply with local, state, and federal guidelines, their industry guidance, and industry guidance for schools and school-based programs. CPs must sign the amendment prior to being approved to provide services to our students. Parents will also be required to sign a Parent Waiver and Release prior to the teacher placing a purchase order with a CP. This will ensure a seamless transition for students when CPs are able to transition from virtual to in-person service delivery. The waiver and release will be included in the receipt of policies shared by the teacher. More details regarding CPs including the waiver information are outlined in the Response Plan linked above, section H.
