School Policies
Prior to the start of each school year, Sage Oak updates the school policies to meet the most current legislative requirements. Part of that requirement includes providing these policies to our families at the beginning of the school year. Please take some time to review the policies listed in our Parent and Student Handbook. They are summarized throughout the handbook, and the full board approved policies are linked in the appendix.

Your TF/EA will be reaching out to you to confirm that you had the opportunity to review these policies and will be asking you to sign the Receipt of Policies confirmation. Please let your TF/EA know if you have any questions.

Parent Advisory Council (PAC)
We are currently looking for parents who would like to participate in the Parent Advisory Council (PAC). At Sage Oak, we encourage and welcome parent involvement! The PAC will play an important role in helping Sage Oak be responsive to student needs and to provide for continual reflection. The PAC meets four times a year (November, January, March, and May) through a Zoom conference.  This is a great opportunity to support Sage Oak so we can be the best we can be!

Secondary Education
  • Please join us here for our back to school webinar today from 1 pm-2 pm! Everyone in our secondary education department including our education advisors and online teachers will be present.
  • Student Council is hosting a Welcome Back Beach Bonfire for ALL students in grades 8th-12th on Friday, September 13th from 3 pm-9 pm at Bolsa Chica. Please fill out this form and come hang out with other high school students! 
  • Students in grades 8th-12th can apply for student council here
  • We have a variety of field trips and college tours already scheduled for this school year and will continue to add more. We hope to see you on one soon! On the last Monday of every month, we hold a webinar to answer all of your high school questions. 
  • Please fill out this form to join our webinar this month on Monday, September 30th from 8:30 am-9 am or make a personal appointment with our secondary education coordinator, Brenda Ramirez.

We now have our own Sage Oak online courses open to 6th-12th graders. We are also offering new elementary and middle school courses such as coding, art, and conversational Spanish!

Field Trips & Events
  • Join us for a fun family and staff outing at Angels Stadium on Saturday, September 28th. Watch the Los Angeles Angels vs. the Houston Astros. Tickets will be on sale on the Sage Oak Website on September 4th from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.  Although this is a school-sponsored event, instructional funds CANNOT be used to purchase tickets. All tickets must be purchased out of pocket.
  • The first field trip sign-ups will begin on Thursday, September 12th at 8:00 am and will close on Friday, September 13th at 5:00 pm. Please note the release dates for each field trip listed.

Prospective Parent Webinars
Our next webinar is scheduled for Thursday, September 5th at 9:00 am.  This webinar is designed for parents to learn more about our program and what we have to offer our students. Use this link to register and learn more. Please share with anyone you feel may be interested.
2019-20 School Subscriptions
Please reach out to your teacher if you would like access to the
subscriptions that correspond with your student's grade level.
  • All special education students with an IEP math goal will have access to an IXL math subscription.
  • Students in 8th grade qualify for the YUP subscription only if they are taking pre-algebra or a high-level math course. 
  • Zearn math is a free subscription that parents can sign up for at any time. We will be providing support to teachers for Zearn math in addition to the other paid for school subscriptions.
