Counseling Corner
Our last Social-Emotional Learning lesson this year is on Creating Balance. Balanced living means taking care of all areas of your life.  We are more productive when we are in balance-- our body, brain, heart, and soul. A car cannot run on fewer than all four tires and that’s true for ourselves too.

If there is one area of ourselves that is being ignored or overused, the rest will feel the results. We have to take care of the four parts of ourselves to be our best.

We hope you enjoyed traveling with us on our Social-Emotional Learning Roadmap this year. If you missed any of our counseling lessons, you can find them all linked here. If you have a question, comment, or feedback for our Counseling Department, please reach out to Allie at awhalen@sageoak.education or you can complete our Counseling Help Slip.

COVID-19 Vaccination Availability and Resources
As an optional resource, Sage Oak Charter Schools continues to provide information about vaccine availability for interested families.  Please keep in mind that the websites linked below are subject to change and that the sites are not maintained by Sage Oak Charter Schools.

Appointments are now available for 12 to 15-year-old child(ren) to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine by visiting myturn.ca.gov. For more information please see here. We encourage families that are pursuing vaccination to review the eligibility and registration requirements prior to making an appointment.  Please note, the consent of a parent or legal guardian may be needed to receive a vaccination. Walk-ins are welcome at some locations. Please check listings.

If a minor will not have an adult present with them at the vaccination site, an appointment needs to be made AND their parent or legal guardian will need to complete the Consent Form for Minors to provide their consent in advance. Parental consent is required for all eligible minors to be vaccinated. You may find a sample of the minor consent form here.

If interested, we have linked all the appointment websites of the counties we serve below:

Every Californian can sign up at myturn.ca.gov or call (833) 422-4255 to get their COVID-19 vaccine appointment. If appointments are not available, you can sign up to be notified when appointments open up.

Visit the California Department of Public Health’s website, Vaccinate All 58, to learn more about the vaccines available and additional information.

Walgreens is providing services to participants who are in search of care and immunizations by type and zip code and book their appointment online. If interested please see here. No health insurance is necessary to make an appointment.
