Did you know that 20% of students struggle from mental health issues and 18% of students surveyed by the Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance Survey (sponsored by the CDC) reported considering suicide? While suicide is the second leading cause of death among school-aged youth, it is also preventable!
As a Sage Oak staff, we not only seek to meet students’ academic goals but also support their emotional health and well being. We recognize that a student’s mental health is an important component in meeting students’ educational needs.
September 8th-14th is National Suicide Prevention Week, and this week and every week, we are committed to suicide prevention. We want to ensure you have the information and resources you need to help your student!
