Counseling Corner
We are thrilled to recognize Student Mental Health Awareness Week and bring resources and tools for parents and students. While statistics show that one in five students struggle with mental illness, the strategies and ideas shared are intended to teach mental wellness to all our students! 

This afternoon at 4 pm, The California Association of School Counselors is hosting a Parent Workshop titled Decoding the Mental Health Messages of Children and Adolescents. To learn more about the workshop or register, please click here to register

Guest Speaker Event: Sharon Duncan
Sage Oak’s Advanced Learning Program invites you to a webinar with guest speaker Sharon Duncan. Sharon is an independent consultant who works with parents and educators to help them better understand the common traits and behaviors of gifted children.

Understanding what giftedness really is and how it impacts every facet of an individual’s life is paramount to understanding how to meet students’ needs. You are invited to a presentation on the social and emotional needs of gifted children and the parenting issues related to those needs. Nowhere more than in gifted-land does it take a village! 2nd Annual CAL ALT Virtual College Fair
Join us for our 2nd annual virtual college fair on May 11, 2022, from 3:30 pm - 6:00 pm! This exciting event is a collaborative effort between Sage Oak and several other charter schools. Representatives from each college and university will be available live on Zoom to answer all of your important questions!

With more than 70 colleges scheduled to attend, this will be a fantastic opportunity for you to learn about different institutions across the United States and abroad. All middle school and high school students are encouraged to attend! Sage Stage: STEM with Rachel Figg on Friday, May 13th
Join us on the Sage Stage this Friday, May 13th at 9:00 am as we welcome Rachel Figg to the Sage Stage. Rachel is a mom of four kids and a music teacher who loves to create engaging music, art, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) lessons for students. 

She will be sharing some fun STEM activities you can do at home!

Branch Out Summer Program
Sage Oak's Branch Out summer program is a free, online program that consists of daily pre-recorded video lessons designed to prevent summer learning loss. Click here for the flyer.

Students going into grades K-7th grade will watch short video lessons, play online learning games, and complete workbook pages that review the concepts of the previous grade level and prepare them for the next grade level. The Summer Bridge workbook can be purchased from Carson Dellosa for the grade that the student will be entering next year. 
 
The middle school math program consists of short video lessons reviewing pre-algebra and algebra concepts with accompanying practice worksheets. No curriculum is needed for the middle school program.

If your student would like to drop into a synchronous math or writing class but not permanently enroll, please complete this form. Once your request has been processed, you will receive an email with the Zoom link to attend.
