The Great Kindness Challenge
Sage Oak is proud to recognize January 23-27 as The Great Kindness Challenge Week. The purpose of GKC is to promote a culture of kindness and compassion while strengthening students’ social and emotional well-being.  They offer mini-lessons to teach kindness at home. Join Our Science Olympiad
Sage Oak senior Gabriella and Ms. Gloria Ching, EA are organizing this year's high school Science Olympiad!
Last year’s Sage Oak teams won fourteen (14) awards and medals and earned 2nd place at the regional competition, and we expect to earn even more awards and medals this year since last year Sage Oak teams were first time competitors!

Sage Stage- LA Clippers
Join us on the Sage Stage this Friday, January 27th at 9:00 am. Meet members of the LA Clippers organization and learn about the importance of staying healthy and active as well as career paths that can lead to working for the NBA. 

The panel will share mentorship opportunities, strategies for overcoming obstacles, and how students can develop leadership skills. There will be plenty of time for Q & A as well!

VLA Clubs This Week
6th-8th Graders Middle School Recess @ 10 am on Friday, January 27th: Brain break! (or is it?!) Games and activities for middle school students who are ready to laugh, learn, and hang out while playing some friendly games.

Supplies Needed: paper & pencil or whiteboard & marker

TK-5th Graders Cooking with Kids @ 10 am Friday, January 27th: Create fun food items to share with friends and family. Using only a handful of ingredients, these treats will be easy to make and delicious to eat!

Counseling Corner
We have new counseling classes and groups and classes starting in February! School counselors provide counseling classes to support students’ mental health, reinforce healthy emotional choices, maximize opportunities for academic achievement, and support career development. 


Additionally, we offer small counseling groups to help students who need additional support to overcome specific barriers and situational concerns.
