Sage Oak’s Annual Letter Drive
This is the last week of our annual letter drive! Being a future world changer means that change starts locally and writing letters of thanks and gratitude to community members is the perfect way to spread love and encourage change. Please join us in making Sage Oak’s Annual Letter Drive another great success!

The Letter Drive is going strong with close to 70 submissions and will run through this Friday, January 6th. Feel free to check out our Letter Drive informational sheet and click below to complete one survey per letter sent so we can keep track of our student’s selfless acts of kindness. Last year our amazing students and staff sent nearly 80 letters to neighbors, retirement homes, teachers, military personnel, hospitals, police stations, and more. What an impact! Let’s work together to exceed that number this year and spread a little kindness.

Has your TK-12th grade student signed up to participate in your local Science & Engineering Fair yet? Now open to Sage Oak high school students! Don’t worry, there’s still time to sign up to display and present a science project at our January Sage Oak Socials on Friday, January 20th, 2023!

We encourage you to check out the Sage Oak Science & Engineering Fair Planning Guide and complete this Science & Engineering Fair entry form to enter your student in a regional exhibition. There is no deadline to enter and the more participants, the merrier! The entry form allows you to choose from six Social locations - Redlands, Fontana, Calabasas, Fullerton, Cerritos, or Murrieta. You can choose to attend the location closest to you or you can connect with your Sage Oak friends and all enter in the same exhibition location. We will no longer be holding a school-wide STEM Day in Rancho Cucamonga, so regional participants will not need to attend a school-wide competition in February. We are confident these regional competitions are going to be STEM-tastic!

In addition to the participating students’ Science Project displays, all Social attendants can look forward to science-based presentations and experiences by local science vendors. Think science experiments! Think big bubbles! Think animals! Your students will also get to engage in fun STEM activities! Check out the venue and main attraction details here. We are super flexible with project parameters, as our overarching goal is to have students engage in the science or engineering method at whatever level they can. Feel free to send your questions to events@sageoak.education.

We can’t wait to see what our Future STEM World Changers come up with!

President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA)
Happy New Year, everyone! The beginning of the year is a great time to reflect and set new goals for ourselves. What better time of year than now, to think about how we want to spend our time impacting others?

As we set new goals for this year, being intentional about serving in our communities is a great place to start. Now is a great time to join our PVSA (Presidential Volunteer Service Award) program. Our PVSA calendar year ends on Sunday, April 30th, 2023, so students still have plenty of time to get those volunteer hours in. If you are interested, here is how you can sign up:
  1. You can view how to register by watching this Video Instruction or through the PDF Instructions. We look forward to your participation.
  2. To register, click below to please complete the survey in its entirety.
  3. After submitting the above survey, you will receive an email from sageserves@sageoak.education on the next steps.
We are proud of the work our students are doing! They continue to put Sage Oak’s core value of serving others into practice and we would love to see you join them!
