Legislative Update: April 27, 2021

April 27, 2021

Dear Sage Oak families,

We received information that tomorrow, April 28th at 9 am the California State Assembly Education Committee will be hearing bills and testimonies. According to the agenda, AB-1316 will be presented toward the end of the hearing. AB-1316, as we mentioned previously, includes limitations and restrictions on nonclassroom-based charter schools like Sage Oak.

Please consider taking a moment to contact the Assembly and voice your opinion on AB-1316 tomorrow. Tomorrow morning, monitor the assembly website for live updates and instructions. The committee will provide a phone line to call in prior to the start of the hearing.

If you wish to voice your position on the bill, stay on the line until the committee announces that they will be taking testimonies. Once you are connected, state the following:
1. Your name
2. You are a parent with Sage Oak Charter Schools
3. Your position on the bill - state either I oppose AB-1316” or
I support AB-1316.
Please only state the information above. If you state more information, the committee will end your call.

We will continue to keep you informed as more details become available. Your voice could make a difference for your students and Sage Oak.

Thank you,

Jamee Block
Director of Education Services
