COVID-19 Update #4: March 17, 2020

Dear Sage Oak Community,

Last night, SB 117 was passed in an expedited process to address school-related COVID-19 Coronavirus concerns.

State Testing (CAASPP)
One area that we had been awaiting direction on was in regards to state testing. The bill that was passed last night allows 2019-20 testing windows to be extended but does not permit schools to cancel state testing as of yet. With the information we currently have, we plan to postpone the April state testing sites. Once we know definitively, we will share this information with you.

Our Community and the Larger Community
Again, we are hopeful that because of our wonderful model of learning, our students will be able to continue to receive their education throughout the duration of this situation where many other students across the world are not able to do so. During this challenging time, we will seek out ways to support our Sage Oak community, as well as the community at large. We have compiled a list of free resources for educating at home and we will be posting additional resources on our social media pages. We encourage you to share these resources with fellow families, especially outside of our community who may need support educating their children at home due to school closures.

Our resource spreadsheet can be found on the homepage of our website or at bit.ly/eduathome.

Please take care. We will continue to communicate with all of you regularly and as new information is received.
