COVID-19 Regional Stay-At-Home Order Information - December 4, 2020
December 4, 2020
Good afternoon Sage Oak families,
As you may already be aware, yesterday afternoon, Governor Newsom announced a regionally-based stay-at-home order to try and limit the spread of COVID-19 in California. The stay-at-home order will be implemented on a region-by-region basis when the remaining ICU capacity falls below fifteen percent (15%).
Once the Regional Stay at Home Order is implemented in a region, it will prohibit gatherings of any size, close operations except for critical infrastructure and retail, and require 100% masking and physical distancing for at least three weeks. After that three-week period, the region will be assessed weekly and the order will be lifted when the projected ICU capacity meets or exceeds 15%. With the exception of Kern County, all other counties Sage Oak serves are located in the Southern California region. Kern County is located in the San Joaquin Valley region. Southern California region’s current ICU capacity is 20.60% and San Joaquin Valley is at 19.70%.
The order does not affect existing state guidance regarding K-12 schools. Sage Oak’s COVID-19 Response Plan follows the industry guidance for K-12 schools and all counties currently in Yellow on Sage Oak’s plan will remain in Yellow. Sage Oak Community Providers, however, are required to follow the State and industry guidelines that apply to their business and operations and some may be required by the State to transition back to virtual-only services.
We are closely monitoring the situation and will continue to keep you informed of any updates as we move forward. If you have any questions related to the schools’ COVID-19 response plan, please use the following Google Form.
